It’s very beautiful because it’s old and well kept. Be ready for noise at night. I brought ear plugs and had no problem sleeping

Room very small and tight, no remote for TV that was high on the wall so couldn’t use it! Most rooms do not have private bath so if you book thru Expedia….they bait and switch! Luckily they gave us a private bath on arrival! Staff was honest and pleasant! No elevator so seniors have to carry heavy luggage up many flights!

The Alaskan hotel is a real experience. The oldest hotel in Juneau, and a historic relic. Smack dab in the heart of Juneau, easy walking to the waterfront, restaurants all around and plenty of coffee shops and shopping. It is not a quiet spot. Our room was small but adequate and we definitely enjoyed our private bathroom. It’s a huge place with many old rooms. The stairs are steep and floors slant but it has a charm that is hard to describe and I’m glad we stayed there.

I have hardly ever left a negative review of anything, but the room we were in was much too noisy. Our room overlooked the street, and people were talking loudly and smoking on the street directly below. A seal was missing in the window, so there was a quarter-inch crack between the bottom and top halves that let the noise and some of the smoke in. Also, when other guests get up early, they slam their doors upon leaving, causing more noise. Don't stay here.
