Recently checked in and checked out about an hour later. Grimy and run down with a strange smell, furniture falling apart, staff let themselves in my room to fix the shower (which I didn't realise, or was told that it was broken). There are better low budget/basic hotels out there.

This was an expensive stay for what it was- was all about the location. And the room was compact but clean and the staff were cheerful. Sadly the shower was broken- no way to regulate the scalding hot water...and the age of hotel means it's noisy. Bring earplugs and if they fix the shower it's a great stopover super close to Kings Cross!

A clean decent sized room with many things included which was a great value for money. Modern room with smart tv and a little digital alarm/side light and wireless charger was really handy. Free bottled water and fruit were really appreciated free extras. Staff were always happy to help with a smile. Recommended

A convenient hotel in Edinburgh. It was close to downtown and could easily see most of the city from the location. The amenities were in pretty good shape, and was overall clean. It worth noting that this hotel had a bit of a remote check in, (I didn't see any staff there for the two days I was there). The room was cleaned, but it would have been hard to seek assistance if I had any issues getting in or at the property. All the rooms required the use of a staircase as well. Overall, it was a reasonable hotel and a reasonable price and would stay there again if in Edinburgh

You get what you pay for. If you just need a a very basic clean place to sleep, this is your place. The staff was very friendly and helpful but this is just a very old place that is extremely basic with marginal quality throughout the property that I saw.

Located in a great area for travelling by tube around the city and by the railway network used to travel by. Room was used for sleeping (as about and about) so it gave us what we needed

Excellent location right next to the train station. The rooms were very clean with updated bathrooms. The size was as expected, and the relative norm for the area. The front desk was very pleasant despite us checking in near midnight. Our only issue was that the rooms had rather thin walls. We were woken up around 2am by our upstairs neighbors arriving to their rooms.

Good location to St Pancreas Station but walls are very thin and rooms are very close together. Lots of noise from other rooms and hard beds, meaning we were kept up most of the night.
