"We stayed here for a week to explore the Basque country. It is a great place witg most sights a reasonable drive away. The apartment was superb and tastefully furnished. We found the whole place a great place to stay and the comfort of the apartment was great. The location is central and plenty to do within walking distance. "Maria Cristina is undoubtedly a beautiful, characterful hotel. The Basque welcome from reception was really appreciated. We received a lovely glass of the local wine and the person who checked us in was so pleasant and helpful and that theme continued throughout. The reception and door staff couldn’t do enough. We had room 301. An upgrade from the garden view we had booked. A spacious room, very comfortable bed, Byredo products. On the downside there weren’t any tea / coffee making facilities!...
