"In a town with narrow streets and tons of pedestrians, this location was easier for driving in and out than many places closer to the ocean. Many rooms have beautiful views of the area. The central brick patio area is inviting, with a fountain and cafe tables. My room was clean but not fashionable; I didn't care because the view was great. I noticed a maintenance issue where a gutter needed repair, but it didn't have an impact on my stay. "

"What a charming little hotel! Our room was spacious. The beds were comfortable. We had a private balcony where we could leave the door open for fresh air. Property has an area with fire pit and hot tub. There is a Tavern attached to the hotel with great food, beer and service which we especially appreciated after a long day of travel. I would definitely stay here again when visiting the area."

"Enjoyed the time spent in a quaint, quiet and restful location. Glad I didn't have to drive after I arrived and was able to walk down to the beach, window shopping along the way, and stopping on the return at the park just down the street. "

"The hotel was super clean & updated! It's a short drive from the center of Carmel -- but there's plenty of food / coffee / drinks within walking distance. I didn't get to use the pool but it looked cute & would definitely stay here again if I visit. "

"I wasn't sure if I wanted to book due to the reviews complaining about the noise, small rooms, and lack of parking. However, our trip turned out to be perfect. The room we stayed in was spacious and ideal for my family of 5. There was some noise since the hotel is located in the town, we slept with a window open but honestly they is to be expected when staying in downtown. Parking was not an issue. The staff were extremely friendly. There is an old rotary phone in the lounge that my boys enjoyed using to call the front desk. Unbeknownst to my boys, the front desk staff would answer and humorously refer to it as the bat cave. This became my boys' favorite part of the trip. The hotel is very beautiful and full of character. We dined at the restaurant and the food was good. We wish we could have stayed longer."

"Rose was a wonderfully accommodating front desk clerk. She is very kind and informative. Only down size was the pool was not functional. Pretty much in a state of destruction. Would have been nice to know in advance orat least a discount offered for lack of this amenity."
