Riu Republica is a party resort. Before you book this adult only all inclusive resort be sure you are up for partying. All patrons were respectful and enjoyed their time at Riu.
I did hear many complaints from multiple patrons about their room and food. They made the best of it like i did. My room needed multiple repairs. The only repair completed was the fan. The other requests weren't. The food wasn't good. They didnt have wash cloths on the premises. You had to use the hand towels when you showered. The restaurants we visited on the premises looked as if they were picked through and didn't taste good nor look appetizing. I mainly ate salad and fruit my entire stay with the exception of some fish that was prepared well. The staff were professional and courteous.
I enjoyed the Runners Adventure excursion. The homemade meal at Maria's home was good. The tour guides Angel and Pedro were wonderful. It was nice traveling throuh Bavaro, Higuey, and more visiting sites of the tour. I enjoyed this part of my trip.
Overall it was an okay vacation.
I will visit Dominican Republic again and try to select another Riu location or another resort to have my expectations meet or exceed my dtay at Riu in Montego Bay Jamaica which was exceptional!
